Title: Modify the Costco arcade?
Post by: tridentphotography on September 12, 2015, 10:08:22 am
Hello,
I'm new to this site, and I was wondering if it's possible to modify an existing arcade machine that I bought from costco.
What I want to do is be able to add MAME some way so I can add the games I want to it.
Is there a way to make a jamma board, like the one it has in it, with the SD card that you can update yourself?
I was debating getting a xxx in 1 board and a jamma switcher, but really, I only want about 10 games, and most of them are not in the xxx in 1 board anyway.
The Costco arcade has all the controls, the cabinet, and monitor, so it can't be too hard right?
Anyone done this mod? Any ideas or pointers at this point is extremely helpful. All the forums are very overwhelming for a newbie to this site.

Thank you for your help.

IF people can build them from scratch or convert an existing arcade game, there's no reason you can't convert this one.

We would need more information though.
Unless it's a Global VR Arcade Classics, it's probably already running MAME.

With no idea what's in there now or how the controls are interfaced, you aren't going to get any answers.
How about some pics?
(pic of the circuit board already in it, how the controls are connected to said board, how the monitor is connected to said board)

Also, what 10 games do you want to run?
