Hey there,
Ive run GA successfully in the past, but I'm having some difficulty with this setup.
I'm using the latest beta (2015), with an ATI 2400XT patched with ATOM-15 on a Dell optiplex 755.
I'm using a wells Gardner k4900.
I'm only planning on running a handful of classics.
Problem 1: Patched with ATOM15, I get >bios screen>GA splash/output select. No matter which output I select, it seems like when the kernel loads, the screen blanks out, and occasional "flickers" where I would be accustomed to seeing the screen change. This occurs both on the live CD, and a previously installed hard drive.
Problem 2: same card with stock Bios, I can get to the frontend, or select a game, but the screen is oddly split into thirds. I have also tried this with another card.
It seems like a problem with X.
Any thoughts? I'm on my phone e right now and having difficulty attaching images, I will attempt again later.
Thanks!
Allen

Here's the "split" screen.
Got it sorted, needed to set my resolution statically to 640x480@60 in ume.INI
The blanking was because I had my VGA connected to the wrong header

Instead of using that fixed resolution, edit ume.ini and set dotclock_min 8.0

Thanks for the tip, Calamity. I will try it when I get home. Also, any thoughts on why GroovyArcade will not launch the front end at startup? I've run into this in the past, and it seems its permissions related. I used to just add the "arcade" user to the "root" group and it would sort it out, however this time it does not seem to work.
Thanks again!

Got it all sorted. No need to add user arcade to root group, need to add to tty
