I'm ready to apply the side art vinyl I made for my vigolix. I did a coat of white primer to the wood but it doesn't feel like the art will adhere to this well.
Any advice on what specific paint works best for the application of the side art? Should the paint be applied by a roller to make it very smooth? Do I need to sand the paint after a first coat? So that its ultra smooth?
Thanks in advance.

Might look at the Side Art Install 101 thread that is stickied at the top of this forum... ::)

Yep...I looked at the pinned 101 side art. It doesn't say anything about the paint under the sticker. I read that enamel is best. Has anyone pasted their art to gloss latex paint,,?

Just make it smooth...

I tried doing Formica sides and it came out incredible. If that's an option is suggest it. But the price and effort doesn't work for many. My research in painting cabs led
Me to learn to prime, sand, paint, sand, paint sand etc with finer and finer sandpaper for maximum smoothness. I actually made a few posts about painting and got some good advice from malenko

This ^
There is no reason to make it more complicated than it has to be. The smoother you make the surface, the better it will adhere. Prime, sand. Then paint and sand. Repeat to make it smoother.
Don't cheap-out on the vinyl. Crummy vinyl ain't gonna stick to anything.

I would add that you should use a glossier paint. A smooth gloss will adhere better.

Use the wet method to apply sideart
