First thanks for the advice on servicing the pro player. My current issue is what I believe to be the transfer motor. The juke selects and puts the CD on the player but cannot return it to the basket. I can manually rotate the front shaft and return it. The front transfer motor armature is spinning and it's shaft moves in and out. Seems like it tries to move things but does not have the power. The mech was a little stiff so I lubricated it and it moves freely with the exception of the cover releasing from the top of the pro player. The magnetic hold seems strong to me. I have an error code of 05-53 02 being displayed. Not sure if this code is related to this issue. There are no warning lights on any control modules. Everything else seems to be OK with the exception of poor sound thru the speakers. Will have to deal with that next. I very much appreciate all the help. Record Machine

Most of the moving parts in a cd mechanism intentionally run without lubrication to keep dust from getting attracted to it and getting gummed up. Oil and grease act like a magnet for dust and dirt particles. VERY few parts (like only 1 or 2) actually require any lubrication at all, and when they do.... they require VERY little.
I believe the issue you have is likely related to someone nonchalantly lubing up parts, and those parts have got gummed up with dirt and grime because of it. extra grease and oil in place where it's not expected can slow things down to the point of not being able to move anymore.
If this is the case, you will have to consult the service manual and do a complete teardown of the unit and thoroughly clean the parts and also lubricate those parts that need it as directed in the manual. It's a somewhat easy task...just a matter of removing a part, washing and installing it. it's just really time consuming.
