Hey guys I got a golden tee 2011 live and wanted to update it to 2015. So I got a hold IT and they sent me the USB dongle and the security chip. I installed the chip and USB dongle went through the checks then it failed and said my video card isnt compatible with golden tee. So I checked the video cards that are compatible bought one and installed that. It didn't fail but all it does it loop on the check screens. Did I do something wrong. Is their something I need to do when I install a new video card?
The old video card works just fine with 2011. But the new video card doesnt on 2011 it just loops on the startup screen. What can I do?

you need to have the exact make/model that IT uses. a "close enough" model may have worked in some of the previous years, but IT really buckled down on the hardware.
you need to get a legit card supported by 2011 in order to upgrade. not a card supported by 2015...
the reason it bootloops on the old software with a "new" card is the old software doesn't have drivers in it to support any other cards other than what were available at the time of software/hardware making. once you've updated to 2015, you can install a zotac 740 and it will work.
in order to update, you will need to borrow a LEGIT card supported by 2011 software...
IE:
Asus 430
Zotac 430
MSI 9500GT
MSI 7600GT
install the legit card...update to 2015...install Zotac 740.

Thank you very much got it to work. 2015 is installed all the courses outfits and equipment awesome. 2016 is coming out very soon waiting patiently for that update.

Has anyone been able to add a different video card other than what is on the compatibility list? The cards on the list are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Is there a way to update the drivers before or after the upgrade? Thanks.

nope not at all. in the slightest. very slight deviances have worked but it's real hit and miss and not even guaranteed to work. the 640's and 740 are still pretty avaiable. (at least at our store they are) failing that ebay.
the OS boots with GRUB so I suppose anything including new driver injection is possible. but I wouldn't trust the system after.
