Looks pretty cool. Really reminds me of Crash N Burn for the 3D0.

I've backed two kickstarters.
Neither has delivered.
Both are over a year overdue.

I'll wait until there is a finished game and it's old enough to be had cheap.

Didn't someone release the original games in an HD version not too long ago?  Right, Rob Baker (original Rollcage programmer) did so as pointed out here by MrThunderWing:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,143323.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,143323.0.html)

I took a look at his site, he's one of the kickstarter guys as he's listed on the kickstarter page (the team section - Rob Baker is the principal programmer). This site contains a link to the old "redux" versions:  http://www.codemonkey.me.uk/about.html (http://www.codemonkey.me.uk/about.html)

Respect earned on the basis of the free redux, I've backed the kickstarter.  So far I have to admit I've been very lucky, I don't think out of the 8 or so I backed that I've been disappointed.  Though I suspect the filmed "Legend of Grimrock" will be the first lol

+1

Whatever happened to the guy doing the 80's racer btw.  I thought his free project was more fun than a lot of these commercial ones.

I misread that at first and thought it said "Legend of Grimlock". I thought it might be some new awesome Dinobot themed Transformers film. (http://www.angelfire.com/vt/ValorDracul/Grimlock3.gif)

But yeah, totally agree with what others have been saying about Kickstarter. 90's Arcade Racer is the only thing I've backed so far and that's been enough to put me off investing in other stuff.

I've been pretty lucky- of the 8 Kickstarters I've backed, only 2 are overdue, and one is not due until next year.

Wow, the nerve of that guy. Starting up a Kickstarter that basically says 'I'm too ---smurfing--- chicken ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- to stand up to my wife, so I expect a bunch of strangers to donate me the money to buy an arcade machine'.

I'm tempted to send these guys a note that says I'd love to back your kickstarter, but 90s arcade racer - whom you had nothing to do with - screwed over a bunch of people.  So you'll getting screwed too.   kthxbye
