Title: Adjusting Trackball
Post by: chrisindfw on January 05, 2004, 02:27:58 pm
I was wondering how loose or tight a trackball should be? I have a used one and the rollers are in great condition but I think that the springs that hold the ball centered are a little tight because the ball has some resistance to rolling it. Also the ball is heavy, I dont know how heavy the balls that you would get from happs or ultimarc are.

Just a newbie trying to learn.

Thanks

When I first installed my Happ 3" trackball, I screwed it into the mounting plate way too tight.  It did not roll freely for a very long time.  After I loosened the screws it worked much better and rolled like I expected it.  If you have it installed in a mounting plate, you may want to loosen the screws fastening the trackball to the plate.

See mine is all in an enclosure. I dont have mounting screws... All I have is two springs that hold the wheel in place.

Anyone know roughly how long a golden tee trackball should spin after a nice hard spin?

Im not talking about the spin where you see the guy take a running start.

Thanks

Can someone answer this for me too! I want to know if my gently used TB is in top shape.  Do they spin for 1 second, 2  or 10? Thanks in advance.
