Has anyone had luck using the I-PAC Ultimate I/O with a U360? I can't get them to work together. I have the joysticks plugged in to the PC via USB so I can use the mapping software, and the I-Pac is plugged in via USB of course. In the software for the joysticks, I can see the movement of the sticks, but they don't work in MAME unless I unplug the I-Pac. I have tried to disable the joystick directions in the I-Pac software, and that doesn't work either. Kind of stuck here.
I also tried to update firmware, but that didn't seem to even work as stated on the Ultimarc website. I kept getting a script error. I also tried to check the current firmware, and the number I found was 0030, not the 0102, or 0205, or something like it says I should find on the website, so I'm not even sure what my firmware version is.
It looks like Andy is on vacation for a while, so not expecting any help there soon.
Thanks,
Mark

If the sticks are working in Windows but not in Mame it suggests Mame is configured to use the I-PAC for the direction inputs rather then the U360s.
So you would need to focus on configuring Mame in the controls menu (press tab when in a game to access).
Its likely not a firmware issue.

Thanks Andy, I figured something out this way. I had MAME set up to use Joy 1, the same for MALA, and neither worked when the Ultimate I/O was plugged in. I just went to change the controls, and found that in MAME, my joysticks are Joy 2, and Joy 3 when the Ultimate I/O is plugged in. In the mapping software for the U 360's I have them set up as Joy 1, and Joy 2.
Not sure why this is happening, but I might be able to get this to work, but I will have to change the joystick numbers in all of my emulators. Shouldn't the UltraMap software take care of this?
Thanks,
Mark

The Ultramap utility won't affect the way in which Windows maps controllers but there are third-party utilities which can be used such as the Controller Remap Utility which can be searched-for on this site.

You'll also have problems getting the newer hardware revs (thus the 0030 firmware) working with LEDBlinky until the LEDBlinky guys get a new DLL put together - Andy (or anyone?), any update on this? I'm still waiting for my automap stuff to work with the new U360's...
