I just purchased my first arcade cabinet, War: final assault, when I opened it up I saw that it looked like a computer motherboard with a hard drive attached.
I was hoping to switch out the PCB and pop in a a game elf and build/wire the controls myself......however if there's already a computer with a hard drive, what are my options?? Can I just switch the hard drive and controls? Is that possible or does it require a lot of computer knowledge??
What do you think my best course of action is?
I read in the manual that it had a medium resolution monitor.

are you sure it's a PC motherboard?
the actual War: Final Assault game uses a hard drive, but it most certainly isn't connected to a PC motherboard.

Yeah, your right.
I'll have to gut it, thanks.

If it boots can you check the version strings in test mode?
should be a couple, EEPROM, GUTS, MAIN all with versions and dates.
If they differ from the ones we have dumps of then it would be nice if you could donate what you have for dumping when you gut it.

I'm going to try and sell/trade the war pcb and controls, If what your asking for doesn't interfere with the sale of that then your more than welcome to it. (Sorry, but I'm not really sure what your asking for..)
