Title: Ugh - issue with miniPac
Post by: megamoze on August 05, 2015, 03:25:00 am
I tried testing my joystick with the minipac and it worked fine.  Hooked up the trackball and spinner, also fine.  Finally completed building my board and now the whole player controller side of the miniPac does not work at all.  No buttons, no joysticks, but the trackball and spinner still work.  The green LED light is on and my system registers the controller itself.

I've double-checked my wiring and it seems ok.  I've got the ground wire connected.  I basically wired it exactly the same way I did the first time.  I disconnected all the buttons and just tried the joystick, and that's not doing anything.

I've attached a photo to show how I wired one of the joystick microswitches.  I'm really at a loss here.

Have you tried testing the minipac on another computer first?

Ok, just tried and THANK GOD it works on my Mac.  I'm currently running Windows 7 on the PC I'm testing the CP on.  What can I do to get it up and working?

Again, the spinner and trackball side of the board works, but not the keyboard side.  I'm assuming it's a driver issue.

New development.  After the test on the Mac, I wired the whole board.  Now when I plug it in it's asking me to identify the keyboard by pressing z, which should be button 5, but that isn't doing anything.  So no dice there either.
