Title: All in one game box
Post by: KPowers on August 04, 2015, 07:24:52 am
I am attempting to build an all in one game box that is portable and can be plugged into any tv. This has been a somewhat of a long process since I have no woodworking tools and even if I got my hands on some my skills are lacking. I love the classic games from my childhood. I researched different companies that would offer me the instant gratification of a machine to purchase. I liked the pedestal arcades available due to the amount of space that it would take up. The choice was to buy or try to build. We'll two years and twin boys later and I have know arcade. I got the itch again so I decide to start this project. I had a friend build me a control panel top and a box.
I attempting lighted bezel buttons after seeing the amazing Flynns arcade build. After drilling some holes and doing a mock up I may have made the box too small and the button layout may not be perfect. Oh well it's my first build. If can get it running I will be happy. I have been working on hyperspin for what seems like forever. The main obstacle at this point is the artwork for the control panel. I was thinking of something simple. I have no photoshop skills or illustrator. Does anyone have any sources for art that would work or would I have to create something from scratch.

If you need artwork, I'd highly recommend posting what you want in the "Artwork" category of this forum. There are skilled contract artist waiting to help for project just like this.

There's also plenty of stuff out there available from places like GameOnGraphics

It'll be more generic, but it'll  be cheaper and this is a first build, sooo.....

Plus some of it looks pretty dang good.
