Title: Sufficient hardware?
Post by: heykool69 on August 03, 2015, 03:38:19 pm
Just finished my widescreeen bartop and i'd notice while testing 2 players Metal Slug in MAME in Hyperspin....noticed big slag with the graphics.  Does these emulators really takes that much RAM?  I'm only using the embedded video that came with my CPU.

This is what i'm running from:
-Intel Core i3-4170 Haswell with HD Intel video 4400
-Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5
-16gb RAM

Keep in mind Metal Slug had lag originally and MAME recreates it.

Oh, didn't know that.  That explains why it works quite well with the other games. Thanks.

Yes, MAME's goal is perfect emulation, the good and the bad. If it did something ---smurfy--- in the original, MAME should do it too.
