Title: Full-size kit options
Post by: brihyn on July 28, 2015, 03:26:30 pm
My office is hoping to get a machine faster than I may be able to build one. I was given a link to XArcade cabs, but I think I successfully warned against one of those. What are some of the other quality-made kits that would be an option for a 4-player cab? I didn't see any full-sized options in the Retail Vendors sub forum.

There's not a lot of full sized options because freight becomes an issue. There's a 150 lb weight limit with shipping options like UPS and Fedex and the market is too niche for large commercial freight vendor to deal with, it's just too low of a volume to be worth their time. That's why you see most people cutting their own cabinets.

What part of the world are you in?  There might be someone nearby who has a carcass for sale that you could use.

The X-tension kit is what I was looking at before I decided to build my own.  They sell completely built machines or kits that require a monitor and computer.

There's also these guys:

They also have kits or complete systems.

Thanks. All of this helps. I'm in Nebraska.
The MonsterArcades site looks good but pretty high priced. They would really like the thing done by 9/21, and I finally have the man cave at a point to start building. I think I might be able to get one finished up by then, especially with the amount of vacation time I need to burn...decided to take a week in August, which should help.  But it's nice to be able to offer some other options.
