Hi, been reading a lot of posts but not really finding an answer to my situation. I have the Rowe R-88 200 selection 45's. I haven't had any issues or concerns until today. I make a selection, the arm picks up the record and usually places it. As time keeps going, it's like there isn't enough power to get the arm to pick the record back up or the arm isn't tight enough to hold it. Now, the arm just stops perpendicular to the table, almost like it's doing the opposite of what it should be. Is there something I can do to troubleshoot or repair? Everything else is working perfectly and if I manually put the record on, the table spins and the needle plays, it just seems to be an issue somewhere with the "tonearm." (If that's the right word) Sorry if I seem like a newbie...I am ha ha. Thanks a ton.

Hello Donovand5,
Welcome to the forum, sorry you did not leave your name.
Is the gripper bow sticking in that upright position, is there a feel of anything binding if you turn the transfer motor manually? When the mechanism stops at the selected record and starts the transfer is the Trans Motor led on the mechanism control dim? or is it lit the same as the other led's?
If the gripper bow is binding have a look at the Cam & Trunnion gear for any sign of wear also look at the two Rotator Assemblies and on the teeth on the gripper bow itself.
All these nylon gears should be free of any lubrication.
Please let us have your findings and if you require any spare parts.
Regards
Alan
