Title: Rowe Ami R92 amp issue
Post by: ruckusninja on July 21, 2015, 07:12:45 pm
I have recently purchased a Rowe AMI R92 jukebox as a fun project. The jukebox didn't come with an amp, but I was assured it'd be easy to get one fairly inexpensively, ha ha, jokes on me. After trying to find one online and through local vendors I have come up empty. So, here is my question. I have an old Peavy amp and DJ mixer, anyone know if it's possible to just rewire the speakers to a 3/4" audio jack and the player to RCA's to make this work? Has anyone tried to do this and been successful? I'm not a jukebox purist, I'm just trying to make this machine somewhat functional without spending a fortune to do it.

Search for the correct amplifier rather than pratting about with add on's.

If you are in the USA you will get a 130 watt Rowe Ami amp for less than $100 in Europe it would cost you around £130-£150 for a tested and working amp.

You could use a 250 watt amp in it that was aimed for the CD jukeboxes (just make sure if you go down this route that it has the phono input, when used on a CD jukebox it has a shorting plug on the 3 pin Molex phono input).
