Had a search on google but found nothing. I have just brought a ipac2 but when its plugged in and working it gets incredibly hot. I mean literally burns to the touch hot.
Is this normal or do I have a defective Ipac?
-
None of mine do that.
When you say, "plug it in, what do you mean?
-
Using the usb cable supplied.

Mine doesn't get hot. I have the old pre-2015 model.
Did you try it on another PC?
-
Just tried in in another pc, as soon as i plug in the usb into any computer the chip on the ipac becomes incredibly hot. I can't even touch the chip for more than 2 seconds before it burns.
Also the led light flashes on the ipac for a bit then goes off.

That can't be right. Sounds like it's getting too much voltage, or something. Maybe the voltage regulator circuit has failed, or something? I'd contact Ultimarc and ask them to advise.

You Ipac has a fever dip it into a large glass of water

Check you don't have a loose/spare wire connecting where it shouldn't. Had a similar problem with my miniPac a few months back when I had it, an PacLED64, and all the cables stuffed into a small test box. Had a wire cross which caused the whole lot to heat up so it was burn to the touch. Luckily none of it fried and was fine once i tidied up the wiring.
