Title: Push Button Lags on certain games in MAME
Post by: lisowskikevin on July 14, 2015, 09:38:28 am
Hey guys,

Has anyone else run into this problem? I have an IPAC 4 connected to my 4 player cabinet and all of my controls seem to work great with the exception of Player 1 button 2. It works fine on most of my games but for some of them that specific button it lags and/or works intermittently. TMNT, Simpsons,Ninja Kids.

Weird I know. I tested the switch and even replaced it but still the same results. The weird thing is that the button works flawlessly on other games! Otherwise I would assume its the IPAC.

Anyone run into this or heard of it before? And I don't know if its unrelated but yesterday all of a sudden while I was playing Simpsons with my 2 kids, all of the controls just stopped working. Every button on my control panel stopped working. I had to restart the computer and thankfully that worked.

Kevin

Do you have hyperthreading active? My mamecab (interfaced with jammasd, not "pacs") used to loss inputs with that option checked.

Hmm not sure. I'll try that thanks.

Maybe check for a firmware update for your ipac too. I didn't have issues to the same degree you did, but was noticing missed presses particularly in fighting games. It "seems" better since I updated, but we haven't played really heavily. The ipac firmware page actually mentions this bug specifically so thats why I recommend it.

Ya I think missed presses is a much better way to describe my problem as well. I will do that thanks so much.
