So I want to hook up 2 trackballs to play crystal castles. I am planning on buying an opti-pac. I want to run in windows. Do I need to buy the serial version? Or 2 USB versions to get it to work proberly?

Yes...
analogmame is where to look...

two usb and analog mame (http://urebelscum.speedhot.com)
OR linux mame
OR DOS, dual mouse driver, and errr, I forgot what mame but it's an old mame.

OK, I'm going to analog mame. LAST QUESTION, which front end will run the menu screens using only a mouse? (like mame 32)
Thanks,
Southpaw

Not mine. I was going to add it... but then I added a tron stick on the same control panel as my trackball...

www.mameworld.net/emuloader will. Probably others, but that's the one I use.

Game Launcher supports Mouse only. However I'm not sure if you can start the game using a mouse button. And i don't think you can switch emulators using just the mouse. I haven't messed with it for a long time but i remember some of the few times I was able to make GL crash was when I was using the mouse/trackball and I would scroll through the list super fast and it would crash to Desktop sometimes. Dave might have fixed that by now though. Word of warning.

I'm so confused... Crystal Castles only has one trackball... Why would you want 2?
