Title: Dual monitor big screen guys - please help.
Post by: vettetek on July 11, 2015, 06:43:23 pm
Im having some real issues with the HLSL on my WIP system. I can get it to work, but it looks like ass on my 50" lcd thats turned sideways. Its kinda dark, doesnt really have a "scanline" look, and kinda has a moire pattern to it.
What settings are you guys using?
Id just like to start with a known working setup.
I asked in a different thread for some HLSL settings but it kinda went unheard.
Thanks!

try using mamefxui and enable glsl. download Lottes_crt shaders and enable both the regular and the vert as well. I like the look better than hlsl, but try it yourself and see how it suites you.

hmmm...now im confused.... I thought the HLSL is THE ticket these days?
Again - Ive been gone so long from MAME im sure theres been a ton of advancements.
So - where do I find the lotts latest gsl shaders and maybe a tutorial to set it up?

you can get mamefxui here.
http://mame32fx.altervista.org/download.htm (http://mame32fx.altervista.org/download.htm)

Lottes shaders can be found here
https://sites.google.com/site/bigbluefrontend/lottesshader.zip (https://sites.google.com/site/bigbluefrontend/lottesshader.zip)
Unzip the Lottes shaders.
install mamefx and be sure you have everything like your roms were it should go.
when you run mamefx got to options at the top, then choose defualt game options. A new window should open up.  Click on Display, change your video mode to Open GL.
click on the Open GL tab on the left. were it it says shader 0, press select shader, choose Lottes_CRT.vsh.
under Shader 1, press select shader and choose Lottes_CRT_VERT.VSH.  Hit OK at the bottom and fire up a game.
