Title: Question about Ultimates from HAPP
Post by: chrisindfw on January 02, 2004, 11:02:52 am
How big does the hole on my control panel artwork need to be for the Ultimates stick to move without messing with my artwork?

Thanks

A 1-1/8" hole will work, but make sure you have it centered if you are using a 3/4" wood control panel.

If you will be installing the dust cover on top of a wood control panel, figure that the 2" dust cover will take up approx the same area as a 2-5/8" diameter circle when the joystick moves full travel in all directions, if that is a concern for your artwork.

Pardon my stupidity. What exactly is the dust cover?

The large 2" diameter plastic washer that is sometimes installed on top of the control panel (most wood control games), or underneath the control panel (if metal cp).

Thanks! Thought that was what it was called.

My advice would be to worry less about the holes for now and worry more about exchanging the ultimates for comps or returning them and buying J-sticks or T-Sticks. Just my opinion. Don't want to start another joystick war here.
