Title: Anyone Do Wood Cuts For DIY Arcade Cabinet and Ship?
Post by: superman2k2 on July 06, 2015, 07:43:00 pm
Does anyone here do wood cut for arcade cabinets? I'm looking to build one and I have the plans but no wood working skills or tools. Just need the wood cut and price please.

Welcome aboard, Superman2k2.   ;D

As Slippyblade mentioned in reply to your previous post (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,146137.msg1520601.html#msg1520601), you might want to look into the Haruman Customs thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,130522.0.html) and/or website (http://shop.harumancustoms.com/).

Check out Rick's thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133905.0.html) and/or website (http://www.gameroomdesigns.ca/) if you are in Canada.

(Apologies to any flat-pack vendors I have overlooked.)

If you aren't interested in a commercial flat-pack kit, it would help to mention what city you live in and maybe post the plans so the hobbyists in your area can make a more informed decision.   ;D

Where in MD? I am in MD, too (Potomac). If you're near NOVA/DC I would recommend taking a look at TechShop in Crystal City, VA. That's where I go to do my work. They have a couple of CNC routers you can use (if you're interested in learning) and even a waterjet if you need to cut metal. Otherwise, depending on the job, I may be able to do something locally for you...but my car isn't very big. If you have plans ready and are able to drop wood off and pick it up from TechShop I'll do the cuts for a nominal fee (it takes a while to set up the machine and prep the g-code files).

Then again I would recommend just getting a membership ($150/mo month-to-month w/a referral) and learning the machine so you can do everything yourself...
