Title: New Jukebox Project - Opinions
Post by: zzsprade on January 01, 2004, 09:20:13 pm
I have been meaning to post about this for a while now.

A couple of months back I was fortunate enough at auction to be able to pick up an old 1966 Rock-Ola GP Imperial jukebox that was in serious need of some work. The best part is that it would be ideal for something I have been meaning to do for a long time, which is too drop a computer with dual monitors for mp3s into an original jukebox.

My question is whether or not to leave this jukebox in its orginal condition when I restore it or too change some cosmetic things as right now the look and colour scheme is very 60s. Ie. old school desk brown wooden laminate and a couple other outrageous things.

Opinions???

Well if you don't like the look. Change it. Why restore it to a look that you don't like? Good luck with your project.

I say if you're going to keep this monstrocity in your house, it'd better look nice...
Update it as much as you want.
Just make sure you're happy with the end product.  Nothing like walking into a room & thinking "Eww... What was I thinking" EVERY time....

Well 1 thing that updates a jukebox instanly is replacing the mesh over the speakers with that grills sheets u get for cars.

i know it sounds wierd but it really make sit look alot sleaker and more modern :)

also id liek to do a dual monitor thing basiclly have 1 monitor for everything and the other showing a cool generated effect like in winamp :) be alot better than colours lights i think :)
