Title: Activating HLSL in Mame0162 causes crash

I am trying to use HLSL for my vector games only. I created a Vector.ini file in the INI folder, and activated HLSL. Tempest, Asteroids, and other vector games just open to a black screen, and after hitting ESC I get a Windows error saying Mame has stopped working.

I am using Mame 0162 build, with an Nvidia geForce 650ti card, and I have the latest DirectX via dxwebsteup. Any thoughts? Am I missing something else to change in the ini?

From what I've been reading, I see that I need DirectX 9.0c installed. Whats confusing me is that if I have DX11, how to I go back to 9 without comprimising other systems, including Demul?

DirectX setup will only copy missing files, nothing will be degraded ;)

I ran the dxwebsetup, and found that nothing installed, all files up to date. Is there a specific dx9 file I should be looking for? Or has anyone have HLSL working on win7 with dx11?

Thanks! I ended up going with MameUIFX since I have an LCD and the HLSL seems to work perfectly. Thanks for the link
