Title: What's yall's opinions on off-brand USB controller boards?
Post by: crtrrss on June 26, 2015, 01:59:34 pm
Hi! I am cheap. I will not spend $50 on encoders unless I have to. Do any of y'all have one of these or something similar?: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/FREE-SHIPPING-NEW-REYANN-NO-DELAY-ARCADE-LED-PC-ENCODER-PC-TO-JOYSTICK-FOR-ARCADE-MAME/32359735380.html (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/FREE-SHIPPING-NEW-REYANN-NO-DELAY-ARCADE-LED-PC-ENCODER-PC-TO-JOYSTICK-FOR-ARCADE-MAME/32359735380.html) . If you do, what do you think about it? Have you had any problems with compatibility to Ledblinky?

Thanks,

Carter

My opinion? Why cheap out on the component that will make or break your gameplay experience?

And I doubt it works with LED Blinky.

I-Pac, KADE, or GP-Wiz FTW.

Didn't Vigo used to sell these or ones almost like it?

Yeah, that looks like a ZD, but I pulled out from selling them before any LED model came out. FWIW, the original ZD encoders were champs, and I think you should have no problem with playability, but I doubt these are going be be anything more than a solid "always on" LED encoder.

Asked around from the sellers and you can control the LEDs (at least according to them). I guess it can't hurt to try. I'll report back if they're worth using
