Title: MaLa in MAME v.162 - are there XML issues?
Post by: specfire on June 24, 2015, 09:09:27 pm
I am using MaLa as a frontend.  Before I consider upgrading my MAME version to the new unified model mamedev are using now, does anyone know if MaLa lists will work and if gamelist management works etc?

I understand that the XML tags have changed.  MAME doesn't use <game> anymore but now uses <machine>.

Is this an issue?

How about RomLister support?

Thanks for any information!

romlister support is coming soon.  my free time to fix the 162 xml issue is in short supply right now- maybe this weekend, maybe a week from now.
once this is done, RL will be able to convert 162+ xml files back to 161 compatibility, so all lists for all FE's including mala should start working again.

Keep in mind that the xml file is huge and may freeze for a long time while making changes.
Turn wordwrap off.

I don't know if Da'Old Man's plugins have been affected.
I'm sticking with an older version for now.
