Title: Spy Hunter makes a pop sound when the lights turn off
Post by: Sarver Systems on June 18, 2015, 07:56:39 am
On a Spy Hunter, there are a bank of lights across the control panel that flash to let you know you have weapons upgrades available. And a light on the steering wheel to alert you to call the weapons truck.

The lights flash.

When the lights turn off, I get a loud pop from the speaker, each and every time the lights turn off during the flashing sequence.

I've repinned almost all of the connectors in hopes of finding a bad ground, but it still does it.

WHere to go next?

Recap the sound board?
Run aux. grounds to tie all the boards together?

my cockpit does the same thing but its not very loud... seems like I had read something about it being a grounding problem but its been a few years.

what voltage are the lamps?
if they are low voltage dc then i would consider led replacments-global vr games do the same thing so i just replace with leds and problem gone

I started a pretty lengthy thread over at KLOV.

Lots of good tips and things to try over there.

LEDs will be the first step to remediating the problem though.

BTW, they are 12V.
