On my quest to build my Mame cabinet I ran across a friend who owns some arcade games.
He told me that he would sell me a used Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinet, after looking at
it I thought kewl this will work, but after getting back home I could not help to think about the
angle that the monitor was at in the cabinet..
So my question is with the monitor at this angle will playing shooting games with a lightgun not work??
Am I making to much of this???
Here is a link just incase the picture does not attach.. http://www.klov.com/T/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles.html
Thankx,

Personally I am taking out the Wooden Moniter rack that is my old cabinet. Going to make a moniter/tv shelf in which to put the TV at a more Horizontal angle.
I imagine you could do the same easy enough.

Yea,
I thought of that but the back of the cabinet almost touchs the monitor now.. :(

I don't think the angle will be the big problem youthink it is. Many games like Area 51 have a low angle like that. Check some popular gun games at http://klov.com for some examples. Besides, reducing the angle will make other games weird to look at.

I'd leave the monitor how it is - it will look odd if you change it. You might have to stand closer to the machine for gun games than some cabs, but it shouldn't be a problem :)

Hi 244,
I am actually trying to build my son a replica of the teenage mutatant ninja turtles game. I already bought the marque board wiring I am hoping to get the cab dimensions from another member here on arcade controls.
So m,y question to you is any chance you want to part with the controls and panel ?
Thanks in advance

Most dedicated lightgun games either have a fairly straight up and down monitor, or use a mirror. But conversion lightgun games ended up in everything.
So basically, your lightguns should still be fine with that 45 degree angle, but you might not want to go with one of those uprights that have the monitor laid down nearly flat (many Exidy cabinets such as venture).

that angle isnt too bad and a lot of shooting games have angles you probably just dont notice since youre not looking for it. plus the turtles is a cool cab to have ;)
