Title: NSM Country 2000 CD laser issues

Hi All
discovered this fantastic site while looking for inspiration to repair my NSM, issue i have is that the laser from the CD is not working, tried cleaning it and taking it to bits to check for any obvious signs but all looks well, the laser pulsates up and down when it tries to read but there is no light being emitted onto the disk, everything loads as normal.
Can the laser be repaired/replaced ??
Is there a quick fix that anyone knows ??
any idea where to get a replacement ??

I would really appreciate some help to get the old girl singing again in time for the summer season in my man cave.

if there is no laser action at all, the head will need to be replaced.

the head should be stamped "CD-PRO II" or "CDM3" or something the like on it...check out google for some replacements. (search "CDM3 player head" or whatever) you may have to order from suzo happ or ebay as they are mostly made overseas.
