Title: hide resolutions?
Post by: Malenko on May 26, 2015, 10:49:59 am
So, I and trying to use a trisync in a cab, but sometimes when leaving a game the desktop gets set to 800x600 (which isnt a problem the monitor can display it) but sometimes it gets set to something higher (like 1024x768) and then I have to unplug the trisync, and plug in an LCD to set the resolution lower.  Is there a way to disable all the resolutions other than 640x480 in Windows?

Using Windows 7, D9204 monitor, and an nVidia 9800GT

I don't have an Nvidia card on my work computer to verify. But, you should be able to remove resolutions you don't want to use using the Nvidia Control Panel.

If that doesn't work there are things like PowerStrip. I don't know if it'll solve this particular issue, but there is a (free) utility called http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU (http://Custom Resolution Utility (CRU) that lets you override the EDID and set the default resolution. I've used it to override the default resolution for my projector so I can use Super Dynamic Resolution at odd resolutions.

Cheers!

nVidia panel was useless. Would let me add resolutions but not remove them.  I actually had a brilliant idea and it worked, I installed soft15  and that removed all the resolutions over 640x480.  Now the fun part of getting the preferred resolutions on the games I play
