Title: Rowe Ami r85 volume
Post by: perkinsprima on May 24, 2015, 06:54:30 am
Hi all
Hoping to pick brains again. I replaced volume control with new correct replacement as old one was very sensitive & occasionally seemed to go flat out without any control. Control of the volume is now better but still goes flatout sometimes without any control. The only way to reset volume is to unplug the volume control plug then plug it back in. I've even tried soldering wires directly  to pins but makes no difference. The wiring has been got at at some time so not sure if amp has been replaced. Model no of amp is 6_07438_02 ,any help is much appreciated. Thanks Glyn

Hi Glyn,

The volume control should be a 10k Log pot.

If unplugging & plugging  in the volume control is effecting the operation then you have got dry joints on the pre-amplifier or the lamps on the pre amplifier board have come adrift.
