I am using joytokey to set up hyperspin and hyperlaunch. I have followed the video tutorial provided by gameroomsolutions on youtube.
Everything works fine in windows in the control panel setting. I have also set it up in hyperlaunch and all seems good. In joytokey when I move my joystick it recocknises the movement inputed. I launch hyperspin and it will function all the wheels and enter and exit all the emulators no problem using my panel joysticks and buttons assigned.
The moment when I go into a game however I get the following error messages as pictured. I have tinkered and tinkered and cant get it to work. I am using windows 7 32bit version. I have changed compatability mode and running as administrator on the joy to key exe. Also it thinks im using a old version of joytokey but it is the lates version downloaded. Any suggestions please?

I have just tried the set up on a Windows 8 64bit machine and it works fine.
It must be the windows 7 32 bit system that is causing problems wrinwriting the ini file.
Is anybidy using Joytokey on a W7 32bit system?

Does your win7 version have an .ini file at all ? If not, I would just try to copy the win8 version to the win7 one. Since it is the same program, that should work.
If the win7 version does have an .ini file, I would check if it is perhaps set to read-only. Thay would prevent the program from altering it.

perhaps not too much help but have you tried running the program as administrator ? It's unrelated but some of the functions I've implemented/changed in Mala would not "write" or "save" and gave a bizarre error when it turned out I just needed to run as admin for the times I wanted to change things then they would actually write/save to the directory/files. Maybe the win8 system has elevated permissions but that's just conjecture, really. Just a thought, anyway...

Hi i will try that thanks. Yes no ini file but for some reason when I untick read only in the file and apply when i go back to folder properties its ticked as read only again. I have programme set to run as administrator.

From the joy2key FAQ :
5. Configuration files are not saved properly and I have to re-configure it every time
By default, configuration files are saved in the same folder as "JoyToKey.exe".
Therefore, the folder you installed "JoyToKey.exe" needs to be write-able. Please follow the steps below
and double check that folders and configuration files are NOT marked as read-only.
1. Please open the installed folder in the Explorer. (You can do easily do it from JoyToKey menu: "File -> open file folder in Explorer")
2. Check if there exists a file named "JoyToKey.ini"
-If "JoyToKey.ini" exists, right-click the file to open the "Property" from a context menu
-Make sure the file is NOT marked as read-only
3. If "JoyToKey.ini" file doesn't exist, the folder is likely to be write protected
4. Please go to the parent folder, and right-click the installed folder to open the "Property" from a context menu
5. Make sure the folder is NOT marked as "read-only"
For advanced users: Alternatively, you can also store the configuration in common AppData folder.
In order to do that, create an empty file "JoyToKey.ini" in a common AppData folder (e.g. "C:\ProgramData\JoyToKey\JoyToKey.ini"), and you can save/load the configuration files in that
folder going forward.
That way, you can launch JoyToKey.exe even from read-only folder, or you can also share the configuration files across multiple users.
Maybe you should try making that AppData folder and see if that works.

Hi tried that by setting up a folder and creating a ini txt file. Also i put the whole program there aswell. Still get the same error message. I am wondering if its suitable for 32bit Windows 7 system?

Let me know how it goes. Intriguing and annoying problem. When things like this happen it can be really irritating, I hope you get it sorted out through windows 8. I never used hyperlaunch as it seemed badly coded (it's very slow and twitchy on lower end systems) but perhaps it's just a process hog and none of my stuff has enough oomph to run it. It does look really nice but that seems to come at the expense of some set-up hassles, from what I've observed.
I have my fingers crossed for you ! (well, not all the time, as I need to do stuff with my hands, but when I've an idle moment...)

Hi all up and running in Win 8 although I have experienced some crashes in hyperspin. Dissapointed with GameRoomSoloutions as they decided to stop replying to my emails and were not very interested in helping.
