Title: Display TV's on sale at Target today.
Post by: MTPPC on May 20, 2015, 02:47:25 pm
I grabbed a couple of TV's from target today. They were a vizio 28" and a Phillips 28" for around a hundred bux a piece. They were wrapped in bubble wrap and missing remotes or stands. I bet your local target has some too.

Modern TVs have a limited life measured in hours.
Those TVs have been on 12 or more hours a day, every day, ever since they were put on display.

So what? The first 4000 hours of 60,000-90,000 a modern TV will last is gone. They're designed to run continually for 10 years.

I dont have a dog in this fight, but Im pretty sure the TVs made today wont last 10 years if ran continuously, especially a Vizio.

And especially if they run in "torch mode" which jacks up the brightness.

For a hundred bucks, who cares. A great deal.
