Title: Is this a decent router?
Post by: JoeStrout on May 18, 2015, 06:10:33 pm
With Father's Day coming up, I'm looking at this item:

My main need for a router is to cut the grooves for the T-moulding on the side panels.  Being completely clueless about woodworking, I can't even tell if this tool would do the job, let alone whether it would do it well.

Any opinions?

That router would be perfect.

Yup, it'll get the job done.  Note it has a 1/4" collet, so you'll need a slot cutter with a 1/4" arbor.

nothing wrong with a B&D router , I'm partial to Dewalt but they are much pricier

Thanks everyone.  I'm sure these "is this tool any good?" threads get tiresome... but I can't afford the ones I saw referenced in the other recent thread, and for a noob like me, a bit of advice goes a long way!
