Title: unlocked my xbox hdd

So I messed up when trying to get my new hdd to lock and I somehow managed to unlock my original hdd. As a result I am stuck with the error code 5.

So what are my options? I have the code.

your option is to mod the xbox with a chip..otherwise your xbox is done for now lol


and I think(not 100%..its been forever I forgot) if you have access to another modded xbox you, can you prepare a new functional drive with your key and it should work.

What about hooking the drive to a computer and doing something

Try disconnecting the DVD to get error 12.

Otherwise it is a hard mod.  All my xbox drives are unlocked and interchangeable.

in theory it relocks the hard drive when the DVD isnt found. Then you hook the DVD back up and the box should boot.  This is why I TSOP my XBOXs , bcause then it doesnt matter if the drive is locked or not.

will give it a shot when i get off of work. if all is lost i will just find a new xbox or something. it was only 5 bucks

So the error 12 didn't work. Isn't there a pc software that can lock it?

I have not used the program in years but I think that you need a computer with IDE, you will not be able to use it with a usb adapter.  You may be better just sending your hd to someone with a modded xbox and having them lock it with your password. 

You may just want to pick up a cheap xbox off craigslist and start fresh, later on if you get around to it you can fix that one and you will have a spare.

This is your best bet.  get another xbox, TSOP it, lock your hard drive, then TSOP your original xbox. sell "new" modded xbox to break even or for  profit.

Everybody is asking too much. I found mine for 5 bucks. But I saw one at goodwill today and they wanted to for it
