Title: Ati 4800 win 7 black screen Help Needed
Post by: wmanst on May 07, 2015, 01:58:59 am
I'm getting bit frustrated trying to set this up..First of all i'm running Windows 7 64 bit with latest crt_emudriver installed and i'm connecting to Sega Naomi vertical cabinet with 15 khz arcade monitor...The video card is ati 4800 series it has it has three outputs standart vga, dvi, hdmi..

I have installed crt_emudriver the way i do always using my crt rgb scart tv than i make sure it is primary display on vga output and shelled it and good to go..Just to make sure i have rebooted machine several times all the time it was ok..

Now the probelm is with the cabinet i have connected it though j-pac and i was getting sync all the way to desktop because the card is flashed with atom 15..But instead of desktop i get just balck screen..I have tried secondary output to lcd and it is not working also..

I have plenty of ati card's for testing so swapping one isn't problem but i think it should work no ?

Also regular Win XP does work on that monitor no problem so it must be my new build or something ?

Anyone any suggestions ?

Thanks

Well 30 views and nobody ay help ?

I have got it working somehow it does involve connecting secondary monitor with extended desktop than detecting devices and switching to arcade monitor..It's not ideal i have to keep the secondary display connceted otherwise i will loose sync..

I have searched and found the problem it's likely monitor detection failing obviously.
But the solution involve soldering which i'm not good at..

Also i wasn'table to use super resolutions windows didn't detect as usable so i have renamed 2560 to 1600 in reslist and voila it worked :)

If anyone had similar problem let me know ho did you deal with it ??

Either one of the analog outputs (VGA or DVI-I) should be the primary one and should retain the configuration. Don't assume it to be the same one as in XP. Anyway those high-end cards are the worst ones when it comes to detection issues.

Brilliant Calamity as always thanks for help...Swaped the connection so the DVI-I as primary now it's working w/o secondary display  :applaud:
