Title: Can I Convert Old PS/2 I-Pac 4 to USB
Post by: Santo8742 on April 30, 2015, 11:57:44 am
I have an old I-Pac 4 purchased new in 2006 that is set up for PS/2. I'm just getting back into working on my cab again after many years and bought a new computer to go in the cab (the modder system TKW4rr10r is selling here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133968.0.html (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,133968.0.html)) This system does not have a PS/2 input on it. Can I buy a cable that will it work with USB or will one of those cheap PS/2 to USB converters work with it? I'd prefer to not buy a new I-Pac if possible.

Andy at Ultimarc.com has a page dedicated to that very question here:  http://www.ultimarc.com/ipacusb.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/ipacusb.html)

You can buy an adapter that complies with what's mentioned there.

Good Luck!

Great! Thanks for the help. Only issue is they want to charge $16 shipping for a little cable. Don't see any way to change from DHL. $16 is more than a little excessive.

The cheap passive adapters will do it.  Or cut a PS/2 wire and splice it to a USB cable.

I was thinking maybe they were in England, but couldn't remember. That explains the shipping then. I've purchased from divemaster before 9 years ago. Good to hear he's still around. I'll give a shot. Thanks for the help.

I would try this first.  Can't go wrong for $2 and free shipping:
