Hey guys!
Having recently acquired a working arcade cab I'm looking at converting it. Just a couple of questions:
The monitor is a Kaga Electronics Model KZ20EN-L 20"
The homepage http://www.taxan.co.jp/english/index.html (http://www.taxan.co.jp/english/index.html) has no information on this item so was wondering of anyone experienced knows anything about these things. Basically I just want to verify that I can use an Arcade VGA on it with no problems. The monitor connects to the circuit board (Chassis) on the side of the cab. It's a molex plug with R,G,B,B,Y wires. Do I just unplug this and wire the molex plug to the Vid Card? This would bypass the chassis board though unless I'm mistaking something or do I have to wire the vid card output to the molex connector AND have it plugged into the chassis board?
The monitor actually has 4 nbunches of wires going to the chassis board.
1 x Red, Green, Blue, Black Yellow - Molex
1 x Blue, Red, Yellow, Black - Molex
1 x Red, Red
1 x Red, Red
What does each of these do?
I know it seems like a stupid quesiton but none of the sites I've visited actually state this or show you?

Many of the KAGA/TSK brand monitors are actually NANAO monitors. Look on the monitor circuit board and you'll probably see a Nanao name and model number.

Yep you are correct. I stuck my head in there, carefully avoiding the nasty bits and it's a Nanao KB240 Thanks a bunch for that :)
Does anyone have a manual or link to info for these. I hit the Nanao homepage but it has nothing for something of that age.
Also I note you didn't answer my cabling question? any clues or hints ;D

I didn't answer the cable question as I'm not familiar with Nanao's wiring and pinouts. Nanao monitors were mainly used in SEGA video arcade games. Visit www.seuservice.com/search.html and search for Nanao monitors.

If you know what the original game was, looking it up on www.klov.com should give an indication if it was a standard res game.
Beware though, try to confirm from an alternative source as some of the info on KLOV is incorrect, for example they list some Sega Naomi games as being medium res whereas they are high res.

Ah okay some more information then. I'm almost positive that the monitor is 15khz so no issues there.
I think the cab was originally a Robocop/Bad Dudes vs dragon Ninja cab except the marquee area is hexagonal in shape. Not very common

However it has a Violence Fight PCB in it and the marquee is an original Bio Attack Marquee in it though...weird.
The cab is in excellent condition though except some twit cut the audio in it and took the volume switch out so no sound. I traced the wiring and tried to replace it butstill no sound. I'll replace it with PC sound when converted though.
