Its been a long, hard, journey lately. But I had some time to devote to something creative recently.
(Unfinished)
Based on the Original Centipede concept...

neat, that'd make a good iphone or android background.

I like it.
You know, with all the other pointless threads on this site, it suprises me that we don't have a artwork thread. Not artwork for cabs, just art that we make period.

Thanks LilShawn and Howard. :)
Hopefully one day, Id like to get a programmer to try and make it move. See if it can play as good as I envision.
Ive got a lot of rough concept art for the many game designs I want to have produced... But Ive realized that people dont seem to "get" the stuff unless you have some "finish-quality-level" artwork behind it. Im not the best in that department, but over years and years of attempts and practice, Ive certainly gotten much better at it.
I agree though. An Art (sculpture, kinetic sculpture, drawing, painting..etc.. ) would be cool to see.

Nice! When I finish my sleeve it will have a Centipede theme.

That's really friggin cool! I have this sort of, love-hate with visual art. Like, I'm absolutely in awe of it, but it's one of the only things in my life that I've ever really, really, really tried hard at, and really, really, really suck at, so I get jealous really easily. :)
But I love the vibe on that and the colors on that. I dunno if this makes any sense but it gives me a similar vibe as I used to get from like, the worlds of Zelda when I was a kid. The backgrounds and everything is so beautiful and serene, but the action in front of you is ready to get intense!
Harveybirdman:dig it! Makes me think we may need a tattoo thread too. I'm fixin' to get my half-sleeve finished soon too, not video game themed but I bet between a bunch of us there's plenty of ink too

Dooshiness and thread derailing moved off to its own thread.
Cool stuff Steve - I still have a saved copy of your original game concept somewhere :)

For the record, I was neither trying to do anything dooshy nor derail the thread. 8) Just chatting art.
I do want to repost my earlier comment. I think it will feel more authentic if the mushrooms looks unique from each other.

:) Some innocents may have been harmed in the process.

:) No worries. I understand why the cut was made. Felt I needed to explain myself though.

Vigo, thanks, but as stated, this is a WIP. The Shroom, was copied for placement feel only. Once the colorization is finalized, I can clean things up more, add more characters and varied graphics..etc.
Saint, thanks.

I figured it might have been a WIP thing. 8) So are you gonna do a series of arcade pictures?

Its a cool thought.. but actually, this is for one of my game designs that i might like someone to program.
A lot of my designs are extensions of classics, so in that respect, some other similar sketches may be done as well.
I spend the bulk of my efforts on the actual designs.. such as.. characters, backgrounds, story, controls, obstacles, weapons, powerups... etc. Most all in pencil sketches and docs. But for better impressions, im going back and takibg a stab at actual higher quality colored visuals... as maybe I could get some funding behind me with them.

I like the art. I think it looks pretty cool for a concept too. Thanks for sharing. :applaud:
