I have upgraded to win7 and coresponding crt_emu_driver and trying to use UME as default for mame and genesis, snes etc..So far i have managed to run mame from frontend i'm using mala in correct resolution i had to edit mame.ini and select lock_system_modes to 1 and than the games display fine on my crt rgb scart tv..But i have no luck running genesis from mala i get to information screen and than the UME crashes with black screen. And that's with the same settings.I hoped to resolve this by using UME as default as mr.Calamity explained to me that there is a bug in ddraw in win7 preventing running games in progresive resolution when i have interlaced display.I was thinking that UME is the solution to run games in their respective native res.But no luck i have used this command line setting to run genesis ume64 megadrij -cart sonic.zip ant that's fine game loads fine from command line but not from frontend so where's the problem ??? What i'm doin wrong ?

The problem is certainly in the frontend's configuration.

Pardon me Calamity but i have used correct preset for mess ie megadrij -cart "%path%\%rom%.%ext%" it does load rom in native res but i only got to information screen than it crashes. i have tried Gameex and with the same results there's something missing but i don't know what it should run right ?
-
Update i got it running and i haven't changed a thing not sure what's happening here but it runs in Mala without a hitch ???
Still crashes Gameex
And for sake i don't know how to change region in UME for megadrive it still says the game is designed for NTSC even tho i have ntsc rom file so how do i change it ? I'm using ntsc driver megadrij ??

I have no idea what you needed to set lock_system_modes to 1 in the first place when that's already the default option. Did you generate an ume.ini file using the -cc param?
-
Again pardon me i was typing in hurry..I have set the option lock_system_modes to 0 than it switches resolution to native otherwise it was interlaced when using Frontend Mala.. Yes calamity i have created ume.ini with -cc option set monitor type to NTSC..
Still don't know the region change for megadrive ??? Anyone ?
-
I'm not sure if I follow you... anyway. Start with a fresh ume.ini file with the default options (lock_system_modes must be 1, do not use "monitor ntsc", leave "monitor generic_15").
Then check if everything works as expected from command line.
If this is the case, leave the ume.ini configuration as it is and focus on fixing the configuration of your frontend which must achieve the exact same results you're getting from command line, otherwise it's wrongly configured.

Hi
First of all as sugested i will start with fresh ume.ini...
1... Deleted old configuration file created new using -cc option
2..Monitor set to generic_15 and lock_system_modes 1
3. Mala 1.7.4 fresh install with default options for mame
results are that mame does run from command line fine but with frontend i get interlaced 640x480 stretched image
i have tried to config frontend but there's nothing i can fix the resolution all are cosmetic changes ?? So what gives ?
