Title: Best way to find a used cab?
Post by: Iori on December 27, 2003, 02:45:52 am
I am getting ready to get going on a  project and have been looking for a cabinet to start with (that is also near my local area so I dont' pay an arm and a leg for shipping) and was wondering what the best places to look for a deal are?  Here is what I have tried so far:

Local Classifieds  No luck here so far.  Not even a listing, unless I am looking in the wrong place.  ;)

NamcoArcade  Some decent deals on some machines that would be cool to convert, though they won't reply to my emails!  :(  Some of the ads have local phone numbers, but not for the machines I am interested in... a site that might be a good source for others though as I am sure it is much easier to get ahold of the seller if you have the phone number rather than a generic contact email at NamcoArcade.  Link: http://www.namcoarcade.com/

eBay  Seen some machines in my area, but not any that are what I am looking for yet...  still watching though.

Local Arcade Dealers  I am going to try and visit a couple of these tomorrow and see what is available...  not sure how well stocked or priced these guys will be though.  Any comments on going through local dealers?  I am in Denver if anyone has comment on a dealer here, general comments would be helpful too.

Posting a Wanted Here  I guess I'll see how that works... :)

Anyhow that is how I a have been looking so far.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks...

Same problem here. I essentially told them that I had cash in hand and was ready to buy, but they ignored three of my mails. HOWEVER, the local Alladin's Castle guy said he could possibly have the machines that I am interested in shipped to his location. Might be worth looking in to.

Good luck!

Good to know...  I'll have to check that out if something doesn't work out soon.  :)  Sucks that they get you all excited and won't give you any info, really strange. At least I am not the only one, I was thinking about looking up any arcades in the towns that the machine I wanted was listed for and just showing up and asking for the manager if I saw the machine in there.   ;D
