Title: Vertical/Horizontal EHT compensation
Post by: Andykara2003 on April 21, 2015, 04:58:01 am
Hi guys - does anyone know if turning up the vertical EHT compensation in the service menu of a CRT can damage the TV?

I have a Metz CRT that does 480p. The image of my 'cube wasn't filling the screen vertically, even woth the picture amplitude on max. I did a bit of research and saw that the turning up the EHT will increase the vertical amplitude as well. It was set at -65. I had to set it to the maximum setting (127) to get the image to fill the screen - it made much less of a difference than the amplitude control but was just enough to do the trick.

I have a feeling that upping the EHT compensation should be fine, but just to be sure (and especially as I had to max it out), does anyone know if this is completely safe? The Metz is a seriously nice CRT & I'd hate to damage it.

Cheers..
