Title: PSX Emulator with switchres-like ?
Post by: Heavyarms on April 07, 2015, 02:27:10 pm
Hi everyone,

I would like to know if anybody knows a PSX emulator who can switch the resolution when launch him or in game ?

I ask the question because all PSX games don't use the same modelines, even sometimes between the main screen, the game and cinematics.

For example, in Final Fantasy VII, the text during discussions are not very clear and hard to read.

Thanks a lot and sorry for my English, not my native language.

GroovyUME definitely can do that but I don't know if the PSX emulation is good enough yet. I used Mednafen in my system for the only PSX game I emulate (Symphony of the Night) and although it can't switch resolutions dynamically you can use a super wide resolution and works great. However, this is not good for progressive/interlaced mode switching.

Recently, I have installed POPs PSX emulator on my PS2 HDD (I have three of them), It works PERFECT with a lot of games, like CSOTN, and Castlevania Cronicles, Medievil, Resident Evil series, etc ...

The emulator Switch resolutions and you run the PSX ISOS from the PS2 HDD.  :applaud:
