Title: Rescue (1982) control setup

I am unable to figure out the two-stick control setup for Stern's RESCUE. The Left/Up, Left/Down, etc inputs in the config menu don't seem to work for me any way I try it. My Tankstick runs pretty much everything else without having to edit.

Anyone else have this figured out?

I set it up a little while back on my dual stick Little Bastard, don't remember anything unusual, just selected Input (this game), then each P1/Left Up etc, press Enter, and then pushed the joystick I wanted the direction I wanted.  One of the two had the general mappings work right, but I needed to remap the other.  I believe I did the same thing on Robotron.

Just tried on the most recent MAME and an older version and had no issues mapping on either. How are you mapping the sticks?  Left/Up is pushing the left stick up. Right/Left is pushing the right stick left. So on and so forth.
