Post by: slicer_d on December 25, 2003, 09:01:15 pm
I was just wondering what the best frontend for a cocktail cab was I mainly want to play vertical calssics and shmups like Raiden Striker1945.  Any suggestions would be cool.

Thanks

I've been using GameLauncher, It rotates only in one direction so watch which way you orientate your monitor.

Well in terms of fes that support rotation natively you have gl, 3darcade and emutron.  That's literally it.

Now you can add to that list with video card that supports hardware rotation to virtually any windows fe.

Software rotation programs aren't worth it as they are very very slow on even the best of systems.

(On an unrelated note, this was a good question.  "What's the best?" questions are only vaild when you are very specific in what you want.)

ArcadeOS supports rotation, AFAIK

Arcade OS will rotate and allows easy configuration of the games to be rotated when run.

ArcadesOS runs great on my cocktail cab,  love it because it can rotate all the way around if needed.

Does arcadeos still have the list size limit?

There is also a little known FE called "Cocktail FE" that is specifically designed for cocktails.  It reminds me of Game Launcher.
