I really like this skin, has anyone converted it to 1024x768?

You could use MalaLayout to convert them to your desired resolution.

Its not that easy as there are lots of layers, and I am pretty naff at that kinda stuff.

surely there must be a 1024x768 version?

I changed all mine to my liking using retroGUI. I can give you the standard.mll that works for MAME. I tweaked all of my other 23 emulators with altered pics. Examples attached.

Not sure if I can post them all here as I used the original retroGUI background and just played around with it. Sent nexus6 a PM to get an OK to distribute the mods. If no response in a while will upload to malafe.net.

I attached the 1024 horizontal standard version at least for now.

Maybe you already got the help you need, but I have RetroGUI in 1024x768. I'd be happy to share. See my video in signature for an example.
