Title: .187 Female QDs to PacLED64 question
Post by: MydknyteStyrm on March 18, 2015, 08:44:06 am
I'm looking to purchase a number of Female QDs, 0.187 for 22awg wire, and crimp them. I noticed there's fully insulated down to the end, and non insulated ones. My question is, with fully insulated, is there a spacing problem between the pins on the PacLED, or would I be better off with non insulated sleeves. Would there be a small arcing issue with non-insulated? Thanks for your help.

You wouldn't use female QD's on the PacLED64, it uses headers like the Molex 2.54mm Pitch SL™ Crimp Housing. Many companies make products that work with the 0.1"/2.54mm standard. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pin_header (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pin_header))

If you go Molex brand you'll want to use four 24-Circuit headers with matching crimp terminals for each PacLED64. Here are the molex part numbers:

22-55-2241 - 24 Circuit Housing
16-02-1125 - SL™ Crimp terminals

Buy extra pins, You'll need them.

Note that we supply the housings with the PacLED64 board and we have pre-crimped wires available in packs of 10.
