Hello everyone,
I am currently building a Raspberry Pi 2 powered portable laptop MAME arcade, similar to Love Hulten's fantastic R-Kaid-R (http://www.lovehulten.com/rkaidr.html (http://www.lovehulten.com/rkaidr.html)). He uses a removeable joystick shaft that he can unscrew in order to close the box -- any ideas what joystick he used (I wonder if he fabricated the threads himself maybe?), or any that I could buy that are similar? I have looked into the JLF Link product (http://www.phreakmods.com/products/the-link (http://www.phreakmods.com/products/the-link)), but it is sold out (and looks like it has been for quite some time).
Thank you for your expertise! I appreciate any help anyone can provide :)

Sorry... it's sold out again! :embarassed:

Go to your local machine shop and see what they can do for you. The shop near me made me a 1-1/4" extension so I just unscrew the red ball thread on the extension and then thread on the red ball again. After I see what he can do like that theres no doubt yours can probably help you. He's doing the second one for me now. When I get it back on Thursday Ill post pics this timeof it apart before I install it in my control panel. The joysticks I am using are the optioal ball stiks you can get with the Mag Stik plus. These are the ones Im getting extensions for...
Maybe that helps you, maybe not..... :)

Thanks for the help guys! I will probably go with the JLF link, once it comes on sale again. But if that fails, then I may indeed look into machining something custom up!

I have regular happ competition joysticks, and although maybe not ideal, i can remove them by simple popping off the (I think its called a c clamp) and just removing the joystick. The actuator and such will fall out as well, so u may want to keep a little baggie in your machine to keep parts together. Again i dont know if thats ideal, but if i had to remove joysticks for something like that, it would take me just a second to pop off the clips at the bottom of the shaft and remove the sticks, and a second to put them back

Where are you located?
I have a JLF Link I'd consider parting with, but don't have time to mess with international shipping.

I am in Texas, and definitely interested in buying!

What are the differences between JLF and what ever the other one is? Can't go to the Focusattack.com because they are Temporarily Closed Thursday at 3pm (EST), Reopens Saturday 10am for ATOW 8! which is some big sale.

It's a removable joystick shaft for the JLF joysticks.

It's a removable joystick shaft for the JLF joysticks. R KAID R use it for example: http://www.lovehulten.com/rkaidr.html (http://www.lovehulten.com/rkaidr.html)
I know what it is. But there is a JLF and is Semitsu? There were two models on the site the last time I looked. I was hoping to get input on what the other was.

The URL says "jlf-link"... so your guess is as good as mine. :lol

I went to the phreakmod product page and there is no mention of a second type of stick. So :dizzy:
