Just bought a computer -specs are:
i5 - 4590s cpu
dvd/ cd drive
8 gb ram
Kingston 120 SSD drive
External 4 TB hard drive
Realtek soundcard
GFX (either) 660ti or 670 card , haven't decided
PSU - Corsair 430
This is a micro ITX system. Hoping to not have to replace the PSU!
Can I get away with this for PS2 and Dolphin emulators or do I need to upgrade power supply?
-
What does the video card require in watts and how many watts does the PSU put out?
-
The Corsair 430 should be fine for either GPU listed figure it has a single +12V rail rated at 28A or 336W and the maximum usage for the 660Ti is 150W and the 670 is 170W so should be ok for either one since the i5 is also has a fairly low 65W power usage spec. .

Consider googling a power supply calculator.
As long as you have parts that are in their database, you'll be able to determine the appropriate power supply.

Thanks for all the input!
JDFan is correct. The wattage for the 660Ti and 670 GFX cards are 150W and 170 Watts. Generic Eric suggested trying PSU Calulators. So here goes - Newegg Calc, (with 660Ti - 446Psu, 670 - 466psu), Extreme power supply Calc, (with 660Ti - 406Psu, 670 - 420Psu), Power supply Calculator, (No 660Ti listed, 670 - 349Psu) My Psu is a Corsair Cx430 Psu. So I seem to be in the ballpark ??? I was told if the external USB drive is under 2tb it will be sufficient for the power supply with these cards installed. If I use a 4tb does this significantly increase power supply needs? But unfortunately,:badmood: I might have to rethink my Graphic card choice. It seems the 660Ti and the 670 GFX cards need (2) pci 6 pin connectors - and the Corsair cx430 only has one! All advice appreciated. Thanks
