Title: Hooking G07 to ArcadeVGA--what do I need to know
Post by: menace on December 23, 2003, 10:52:54 am
So from the 2 donor machines I got 2 working 19" tubes--this one is a G07-904 and it looks good in the machine but when i hook it to the arcadevga, it doesn't stop rolling.  I'm assuming I have my horiz and vert. hooked to the wrong connectors on the vga breakout cable.  Anyone who has one, could you shed some light on what gets connected where?  Thanks!

Oh yeah I have RGB and GND connected to breakout cable with horiz. sync connected to H Sync+ and vert. sync connected to Vsync +

never mind--the h and v sync needed to go to negative not positive--now for a cap kit.

I'm getting ready to do the same thing here shortly, any advice you can offer? Better yet, can you kinda show me how it's done? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Looking at the chassis from the back there are is a 6 pin plug and just above that, a 3 pin plug in the upper left hand corner.  Reading from right to left (still looking from the back) it goes RED, GREEN, BLUE, GND, V sync +, H sync+.  the three plugs read blank, vsync -, h sync -.

Just hook up your cable so red goes to red etc.  You should also have a h sync and a v sync on your monitor cable.  These go to the v sync - and h sync- on the 3 pin plug.

If a cap kit hasn't been done --do one.  This monitor went from a wavy washed out picture to a rock solid bright one with 5.00 in Caps (CDN!)  I'm still amazed at the difference--and I can understand why the guy didn't want them to begin with :P  I also changed the v. lin and v. height pots since they cause distortion whenever i touched them.
