Title: RetroPi and Trackball
Post by: someUserName on February 28, 2015, 06:54:51 pm
I just got my shipment in (woo-hoo!) and setup up the buttons, Mag stick and trackball. I can use the trackball as a mouse, but was wondering how to map some of the arcade buttons to use as the mouse buttons. Also, I increased the speed of  the mouse/trackball but it is still very slow. I increased the acceleration, but is there a way to increase the speed?

what kind of trackball?
what type of interface?

I have one of those 2 1/2" lit ps2 trackballs that works pretty good.

A kade will do a trackall also now and give you decent control.

I have the U-TRAK FlushMount Arcade Trackball without the USB interface (http://www.ultimarc.com/trackball.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/trackball.html)).
I have the I-Pac2 (http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/ipac1.html)).

I have Raspberry Pi 2.

I just found this:http://www.ultimarc.com/optipac3.html, but didn't see where the Port n Button L/Port n Button R were at (they may even be on my board)...

It looks like I should have bought the USB interface...  The mouse buttons only work though it. :(

I would still like to know how to speed up the speed of the trackball though. I tried xset m 20 20, but it didn't make a difference.

I would try the forum of the particular distro you are using on the rpi.
It just worked for me.
All I had to do was set the mouse to auto in advmame.rc and I was playing centipede.
